The Astronaut and the Star by Jen Comfort

This was a delightful character-driven romance between a prickly female astronaut and a movie star.

At it’s heart, this is an “opposites attract” romance. She’s a goth nerd, and he’s a big puppyish man. Their characters could not be more different. It’s so well drawn.

Her character has a fear of romantic entanglements that is not unfamiliar in contemporary romance. And her parents are practically Disney villains. But the way it all unfolds is delicious.

I loved the background elements of this book, too. Her nerdy NASA training was fun to follow, and the awful Hollywood people in his life were a trip.

Read it for the glorious hate-to-love setup and the nerd girl power.
