The Blonde Identity by Ally Carter

Title: The Blonde Identity (OMG that title is pure gold!)
Technical Genre: Comedic romantic suspense.
True Genre: Ally Carter madcap amnesia romance with kickass heroine and smoldering hero.
Publication: August 2023

Wow, this was so fun! An identical twin has amnesia, and is stuck at the center of a caper involving her missing identical twin sister! Okay, that’s a lot of plot, right? Sure. But the true fun of this book is Zoe’s hilarious voice. I mean, the first paragraph really shows you what you’re getting:

Here’s the thing about waking up with no memory in the middle of the night, in the middle of the street, in the middle of Paris: at least you’re waking up in Paris.

Zoe is a trip, and I wouldn’t kick Sawyer out of bed, either.

The cleverest thing about this book is watching Zoe try to guess who she really is… a chef? A cat burglar? A school principal? And yet even though she doesn’t remember herself, she knows herself the whole time, and owns all her choices. It’s a fresh character arc, and I loved it to pieces.
