Sarina Bowen Reading Order

I am often asked where to begin. Most books are stand-alones. With the possible exception of US, the sequel to HIM, you can jump in anywhere.

That said, let’s show you the series order so you can meet the characters as they are introduced in the series, if that's your jam.

Thank you for reading!

Sarina Bowen

How do the series overlap?

These are the overlaps and spinoffs you may spot in your reading! Here’s a listing of the overlaps:

  • The Brooklyn boys + True North overlap in Bountiful, whose hero is a Bruisers team member.

  • The Hockey Guys are a M/M spin-off of the Brooklyn series!

  • True North and Good as Gold are set in the same world! True North follows the Shipley and Rossi family, while Good as Gold introduces the Giltmakers.

  • The Company is a spinoff of the Brooklyn series, as the hero of Moonlighter is a hockey player.

  • Gravity also takes place in Vermont, just as True North does.

Start With: Rookie Move (or maybe Brooklynaire)

LOVE HOCKEY PLAYERS? THESE TWO SERIES ARE INTERCONNECTED AND FOR THE SAME HOCKEY TEAM. YOU CAN START WITH THE BRUISERS OR IF YOU LOVE BILLIONAIRES MOST OF ALL START WITH Brooklynaire INSTEAD! YOU WON'T REGRET IT.

The Brooklyn Bruisers series is:

Rookie Move | Hard Hitter | Pipe Dreams

THE BROOKLYN HOCKEY SERIES IS:

Brooklynaire | Overnight Sensation | Superfan | Sure Shot | Bombshells | Must Love Hockey | Shenanigans | Love Lessons

Start With: The Year We Fell Down

The Ivy Years Series is:

1. The Year We Fell Down | 2. The Year We Hid Away | 3. The Understatement of the Year | 4. The Shameless Hour | 5. The Fifteenth Minute | Extra Credit

And then? A popular Ivy Years character from books 3,4,5 is the hero of Rookie Move in the Brooklyn Bruisers series!

Start With: The New Guy

Even MORE Hockey! This series starts with a familiar Brooklyn face, but this spin-off series is all about male hockey players and the men that love them!

The Hockey guys series is:

  1. The New Guy | 2. I’m Your Guy

 Start With: Moonlighter

The Company series is:

1. Moonlighter | 2. Loverboy

Start with: Bittersweet

Welcome to Vermont, where the air is sweet and the men are burly. You can mix this series up and dive in anywhere, but book #4 is better if you know what happened to Zara in book #1. And book 5 is better if you know what happened to May in book #3. Got that?

The True North Series is: 1. Bittersweet | 2. Steadfast | 3. Keepsake | 4. Bountiful | 5. Speakeasy | 6. Fireworks | 7. Heartland | 8. Waylaid

Not ready to say goodbye to Vermont? Then you might want to read the Giltmaker series! The series starts with a long-lost Rossi...

Start With: Good as Gold

The Giltmaker Series is:

  1. Good as Gold

Start: Anywhere!

While these books aren’t part of any series, they both take place in the True North world. If you remember Kieran from Bittersweet, Roommate is his story, and Boyfriend’s hero is a hockey player at Moo U - where the Shipley twins attend school!

Spinoff’s include Roommate | Boyfriend

Start with: Him or Good Boy

The first two books are the story of Wes and Jamie, who began as hockey camp roommates and ended up together forever.

Then Good Boy belongs to Jamie's sister, paired with the goofiest (sexiest) secondary character ever. And Stay (about another teammate in the same world) is like a rich dessert to finish the meal.

Note: Epic is a continuation of Wes and Jamie’s story, but the events of Epic happen after the conclusions of Good Boy and Stay.

Is MM Your Jam? Try any of these.

Want to laugh out loud?

Try the MAN HANDS series!

And don’t miss…

  • Roommate happens in the True North world (M/M)

  • A Little Too Late: The first book in the Madigan Mountain series! 3 book by authors (1 author/ea). Three Madigan brothers (M/F)

  • Best Men: A fun M/M standalone with Lauren Blakely, but you’ve met one of these characters before (hint: he’s in Bombshells)

  • Lies & Lullabies: Another 3 books series with Devney Perry & Rebecca Yarros. For 3 members of the same band (M/F)

  • Man Hands: 3 books for best friends, and a 4th for good measure! Written with Tanya Eby, Rom-Com goodness! (M/F)

  • Top Secret: a standalone M/M with Elle Kennedy. They hate each other… or do they? #FunWithEmojis

  • WAGs: 2 teammates of Wesley’s from the Him series. They’ll have you laughing out loud (M/F)
